I am on a treasure hunt in Burkina Faso, I want to understand how the beautiful fabrics I use for my pieces are created. I want to try out whether I can design and sew with the means available here. I have many questions on my mind: How can my demands for high-quality workmanship be met in Burkina? Under what conditions do people actually work here? How much work, creativity and craftsmanship goes into the creations that are made here from photo and video templates from the internet? And finally, how do the answers to all these questions fit in with my vision of producing fashion under fair conditions – in a process that keeps the added value in Burkina and whose end products enjoy the corresponding appreciation for culture-connecting fashion from you, the customers.<\/p>\n

Brigitte and Benjamin<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"PagnesMy search for answers leads me to a small hairdresser and fabric shop. Brigitte, the owner, comes from Benin. Since I already know the West African coastal country a little, we start talking. Brigitte gets her fabrics from Porto Novo, not far from the capital Cotonou, through her sister. She tries to support herself and her son with her small shop. When I tell her that I am looking for production possibilities for my fashion label, she introduces me directly to Benjamin, who runs a small tailor’s studio next door and spontaneously offers me a guided tour. „I actually hardly ever work with patterns anymore, all the pieces are transferred directly to the fabrics according to measurements,“ Benjamin explains to me. „For my apprentices, of course, I still use them here and there so they can learn.“ After saying hello and goodbye to his two employees and his apprentice, I buy some Pagne fabrics from Brigitte for my first „Made in Burkina“ collection. With the 30,000 Francs CFA – the equivalent of 45 Euros – she can now pay the monthly rent for the shop, she says with a smile. She also gives me the contact of R\u00e9gine, who runs a training centre for young dressmakers near the children’s hospital in Ouagadougou.<\/p>\n

Centre Esp\u00e9rance<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the meantime, I also found a very nice taxi driver via the mega-modern app „Okalm“<\/a> (it works very similarly to Free Now or Uber). Ahmed is Peulh, and thus belongs to a minority that has been and still is persecuted in northern Burkina Faso for years. My family also belongs to this ethnic group. With my surname Diallo, I am recognised directly as a „pulho debbo“ – Fulan woman – or addressed in the Fulfulde language, of which, to my regret, I only understand a few greetings. A few days later Ahmed and his intern take me to R\u00e9gine, the founder of the Centre Esp\u00e9rance in the „Zone 1“<\/p>\n

With combined orientation efforts and R\u00e9gine’s instructions via mobile phone, we reach the small centre. R\u00e9gine awaits me at the entrance together with an elderly, crocheting teacher and greets me warmly. The needlework lady is taking over the work of the security guard today, who has not turned up for service. Normally he looks after the students‘ bicycles parked in front of the courtyard. R\u00e9gine, a dressmaker herself, first shows me where the first-year trainees are taught. Behind raffia curtains separating an open veranda from the courtyard, the 30 or so young women crowd in. My visit triggers murmurs and quiet laughter. R\u00e9gine calls the girls to order and introduces me as a German fashion designer with a big brand. While I’m still trying to put into perspective for myself that my label is still in its infancy, R\u00e9gine pulls me towards a debutante who is embroidering a piece of fabric. After a few steps across the very hot courtyard, we reach the large sewing room where about 40 girls look at us in surprise from behind sewing machines. R\u00e9gine introduces me briefly and announces to the large group that the best students will be allowed to work with me. Her speech immediately raises a question in my mind: „Will I be able to meet these expectations?“ I briefly tell them where I come from and that I try to have my cross-cultural fashion produced in Burkina. I emphasise how important training is for the women’s financial independence and that I can imagine working together if the quality is right.<\/p>\n

On the way to the final year students, R\u00e9gine apologises for the state of the courtyard. There are stones and cement bags everywhere, and there are plans to roof the area so that the third-year girls are at least protected from the sun. But as is so often the case, there is no money for this. At the moment, the most experienced young women are learning on the neighbouring property in the shade of a large tree. R\u00e9gine also lives here with her family. I begin to understand how much heart and soul and financial effort goes into the future of disadvantaged girls from rural areas here. After a little chat with R\u00e9gine’s husband, who proudly tells me about his stays in Germany and some German visitors to the family, I slowly say goodbye. We agree on a next visit to the studio of Alima, the director of the centre. With a smile on my face, I get into Ahmed’s taxi, which is already waiting outside the gate. I think I have found another little gem.<\/p>\n

The first pr\u00eat-\u00e0-porter collection<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"MohammadAlready on the way back, I think about how I can work with Alima and the students of the Centre Esp\u00e9rance. Tailor-made models might still be a bit challenging for the girls in training, so I think about how I can prepare simpler garments in paper cuts and different sizes so that they only have to sew the cut pieces together. Thus it needs cutting paper and of course fabrics. Ahmed and I set out over the next few days to find „Mon Fasodanfani“<\/a>, a shop for woven cotton fabrics that I have been following on Instagram for some time. Unfortunately, we do not find the shop: there is only a shell of a building at the address mentioned. But we do find it nearby at Kanazo\u00e9 Mode: My senses almost dwindle when I see the selection. After a few hours, I have chosen three different fabric samples, which are also available in the appropriate quantity. I ask Mohammad, the friendly shop assistant and son of the owner, if he can get me ten metres of cutting paper. He disappears around the corner and gets me a roll of wrapping paper within minutes. Over the next few days, I grade cuts for the first time for a reversible jacket and a jumpsuit in sizes 36, 38 and 40. The fan in my small living room whirls the cut pieces off my small table countless times: this is Africa!<\/p>\n

Chasse au tr\u00e9sor<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Je suis en train de faire une chasse au tr\u00e9sor au Burkina Faso, je veux comprendre comment sont fabriqu\u00e9s les magnifiques tissus que j’utilise pour mes mod\u00e8les. Je veux essayer de voir si je peux concevoir et coudre avec les moyens disponibles ici. J’ai beaucoup de questions en t\u00eate: comment mes exigences en mati\u00e8re de confection de qualit\u00e9 peuvent-elles \u00eatre satisfaites au Burkina ? Dans quelles conditions les gens travaillent-ils r\u00e9ellement ici ? Quelle est la part de travail, de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 et de savoir-faire artisanal dans les cr\u00e9ations r\u00e9alis\u00e9es ici \u00e0 partir de mod\u00e8les photo et vid\u00e9o trouv\u00e9s sur Internet ? Et enfin, comment les r\u00e9ponses \u00e0 toutes ces questions s’inscrivent-elles dans ma vision de la production de mode dans des conditions \u00e9quitables – dans un processus qui maintient la cr\u00e9ation de valeur au Burkina et dont les produits finaux jouissent de l’estime correspondante de vous, les clients, pour une mode qui r\u00e9unit les cultures.<\/p>\n

Brigitte et Benjamin
\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"PagnesMa qu\u00eate de r\u00e9ponses m’am\u00e8ne dans un petit magasin de tissus et de coiffure, o\u00f9 Brigitte, la propri\u00e9taire, vient du B\u00e9nin. Comme je connais d\u00e9j\u00e0 un peu ce pays c\u00f4tier d’Afrique de l’Ouest, nous entamons la conversation. Par l’interm\u00e9diaire de sa s\u0153ur, Brigitte ach\u00e8te ses tissus \u00e0 Porto Novo, non loin de la capitale Cotonou. Avec son petit magasin, elle essaie de subvenir \u00e0 ses besoins et \u00e0 ceux de son fils. Lorsque je lui dis que je cherche des possibilit\u00e9s de production pour ma mode, elle me pr\u00e9sente directement \u00e0 Benjamin, qui tient un petit atelier de couture \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 et me propose spontan\u00e9ment une visite guid\u00e9e. „En fait, je ne travaille presque plus avec des patrons, toutes les pi\u00e8ces sont directement report\u00e9es sur mesure sur les tissus“, m’explique Benjamin. „Pour mes apprentis, je les utilise bien s\u00fbr encore ici et l\u00e0 pour qu’ils puissent apprendre“. Apr\u00e8s avoir salu\u00e9 ses deux collaborateurs et son apprentie, j’ach\u00e8te chez Brigitte quelques tissus Pagne pour ma premi\u00e8re collection „Made in Burkina“. Avec les 30 000 francs CFA – l’\u00e9quivalent de 45 euros – elle peut maintenant payer le loyer mensuel de la boutique, me dit-elle en souriant. Elle me donne encore le contact de R\u00e9gine, qui dirige un centre de formation pour jeunes couturi\u00e8res pr\u00e8s de l’h\u00f4pital p\u00e9diatrique de Ouagadougou.<\/p>\n

Centre Esp\u00e9rance<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Entre-temps, j’ai trouv\u00e9 un chauffeur de taxi tr\u00e8s sympa gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l’application m\u00e9ga-moderne „Okalm“<\/a> (qui fonctionne de mani\u00e8re tr\u00e8s similaire \u00e0 Free Now ou Uber). Ahmed est Peulh, et fait donc partie d’une minorit\u00e9 qui est pers\u00e9cut\u00e9e depuis des ann\u00e9es dans le nord du Burkina. Ma famille fait \u00e9galement partie de ce groupe ethnique. Avec mon nom de famille Diallo, on me reconna\u00eet directement comme „pulho debbo“ – femme peule – ou on s’adresse \u00e0 moi dans la langue fulfulde, dont je ne comprends, \u00e0 mon grand regret, que quelques formules de bienvenue. Ahmed et son stagiaire m’emm\u00e8nent chez R\u00e9gine, la fondatrice du Centre Esp\u00e9rance, dans le quartier de la „Zone 1“. En unissant nos efforts d’orientation et en suivant les instructions de R\u00e9gine via son t\u00e9l\u00e9phone portable, nous arrivons au petit centre. R\u00e9gine m’attend \u00e0 l’entr\u00e9e en compagnie d’une enseignante \u00e2g\u00e9e qui fait du crochet et me salue chaleureusement. La dame qui travaille \u00e0 l’aiguille prend aujourd’hui le relais du gardien qui ne s’est pas pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 au travail. D’habitude, il surveille les v\u00e9los des \u00e9l\u00e8ves gar\u00e9s devant la cour. R\u00e9gine, elle-m\u00eame couturi\u00e8re, me montre d’abord o\u00f9 sont enseign\u00e9s les apprentis de premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e. Derri\u00e8re les rideaux de raphia qui s\u00e9parent une v\u00e9randa ouverte de la cour, une trentaine de jeunes femmes se pressent. Ma visite d\u00e9clenche des murmures et des rires discrets. R\u00e9gine rappelle les filles \u00e0 l’ordre et me pr\u00e9sente comme une cr\u00e9atrice de mode allemande avec une grande marque. Alors que j’essaie de relativiser le fait que ma marque n’en est qu’\u00e0 ses d\u00e9buts, R\u00e9gine m’entra\u00eene vers une d\u00e9butante qui brode un morceau de tissu manqu\u00e9 \u00e0 la main. Apr\u00e8s quelques pas dans la cour tr\u00e8s chaude, nous arrivons dans la grande salle de couture o\u00f9 une quarantaine de filles nous regardent avec surprise derri\u00e8re des machines \u00e0 coudre. R\u00e9gine me pr\u00e9sente bri\u00e8vement et annonce devant la grande assembl\u00e9e que les meilleures \u00e9l\u00e8ves pourront travailler avec moi. Son discours soul\u00e8ve imm\u00e9diatement une question chez moi : „Est-ce que je vais pouvoir r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces attentes ?“ Je raconte bri\u00e8vement d’o\u00f9 je viens et que j’essaie de faire produire ma mode transculturelle au Burkina. J’insiste sur l’importance de la formation pour l’ind\u00e9pendance financi\u00e8re des femmes et sur le fait que je peux envisager une collaboration si la qualit\u00e9 est au rendez-vous.<\/p>\n

En allant \u00e0 la rencontre des \u00e9l\u00e8ves de derni\u00e8re ann\u00e9e, R\u00e9gine s’excuse de l’\u00e9tat de la ferme. Des pierres et des sacs de ciment sont entrepos\u00e9s un peu partout, il est pr\u00e9vu de couvrir le terrain pour que les filles de troisi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e soient au moins prot\u00e9g\u00e9es du soleil. Mais comme souvent, l’argent manque pour cela. Actuellement, les jeunes femmes les plus exp\u00e9riment\u00e9es \u00e9tudient sur le terrain voisin, \u00e0 l’ombre d’un grand arbre. C’est l\u00e0 que R\u00e9gine vit avec sa famille. Je commence \u00e0 comprendre combien de c\u0153ur et d’efforts financiers sont investis ici dans l’avenir des jeunes filles d\u00e9favoris\u00e9es des r\u00e9gions rurales. Apr\u00e8s avoir bavard\u00e9 un peu avec le mari de R\u00e9gine, qui me parle avec fiert\u00e9 de ses s\u00e9jours en Allemagne et de quelques visiteurs allemands de la famille, je prends lentement cong\u00e9. Nous convenons d’une prochaine visite \u00e0 l’atelier d’Alima, la directrice du centre. Le sourire aux l\u00e8vres, je monte dans le taxi d’Ahmed qui m’attend d\u00e9j\u00e0 devant la porte du centre. Je crois que j’ai encore trouv\u00e9 une petite pierre pr\u00e9cieuse.<\/p>\n

La premi\u00e8re collection de pr\u00eat-\u00e0-porter<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"MohammadD\u00e9j\u00e0 sur le chemin du retour, je r\u00e9fl\u00e9chis \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re dont je pourrais collaborer avec Alima et les \u00e9l\u00e8ves du Centre Esp\u00e9rance. Les mod\u00e8les sur mesure sont peut-\u00eatre encore un peu exigeants pour les filles en formation, je r\u00e9fl\u00e9chis donc \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re de pr\u00e9parer des v\u00eatements plus simples en papier d\u00e9coup\u00e9 et de diff\u00e9rentes tailles, afin qu’elles n’aient plus qu’\u00e0 monter les pi\u00e8ces d\u00e9coup\u00e9es. Il faut donc du papier \u00e0 d\u00e9couper et, bien s\u00fbr, des tissus. Dans les jours qui suivent, Ahmed et moi partons \u00e0 la recherche de „Mon Fasodanfani“, un magasin de tissus en coton tiss\u00e9 que je suis depuis quelque temps sur Instagram. Malheureusement, nous ne trouvons pas le magasin : \u00e0 l’adresse indiqu\u00e9e, il n’y a qu’un gros immeubles en contruction. En revanche, nous trouvons notre bonheur non loin de l\u00e0, chez Kanazo\u00e9 Mode : Mes sens s’\u00e9vanouissent presque quand je vois le choix. Au bout de quelques heures, j’ai trois \u00e9chantillons de tissus diff\u00e9rents, qui sont \u00e9galement disponibles dans les quantit\u00e9s correspondantes. Je demande \u00e0 Mohammad, le sympathique vendeur et fils du propretaire, s’il peut me procurer dix m\u00e8tres de papier de coupe. En quelques minutes, il me trouve un rouleau de papier d’emballage au coin de la rue. Dans les jours qui suivent, je grade pour la premi\u00e8re fois des patrons pour une veste r\u00e9versible et une combinaison dans les tailles 36, 38 et 40. Le ventilateur de mon petit salon fait tourbillonner les pi\u00e8ces d\u00e9coup\u00e9es un nombre incalculable de fois sur ma petite table : c’est l’Afrique !<\/p>\n

Schatzsuche<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Ich bin auf Schatzsuche in Burkina Faso, m\u00f6chte verstehen, wie die wundersch\u00f6nen Stoffe entstehen, die ich f\u00fcr meine Modelle verwende. Ich m\u00f6chte ausprobieren, ob ich mit den hier vorhandenen Mitteln entwerfen und n\u00e4hen kann. Ich habe viele Fragen im Kopf: Wie k\u00f6nnen meine Anspr\u00fcche an hochwertige Verarbeitung in Burkina erf\u00fcllt werden? Unter welchen Bedingungen arbeiten die Menschen hier tats\u00e4chlich? Wieviel Arbeit, Kreativit\u00e4t und handwerkliches Know-how stecken in den Kreationen, die hier nach Foto- und Videovorlagen aus dem Internet entstehen? Und schlie\u00dflich, wie passen die Antworten auf all diese Fragen zu meiner Vision, Mode zu fairen Bedingungen zu produzieren \u2013 in einem Prozess, der die Wertsch\u00f6pfung in Burkina h\u00e4lt und dessen Endprodukte die entsprechende Wertsch\u00e4tzung f\u00fcr kulturverbindende Mode bei Euch, den Kund:innen genie\u00dft.<\/p>\n

Brigitte und Benjamin<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"PagnesMeine Suche nach Antworten f\u00fchrt mich in ein kleines Fris\u00f6r- und Stoffgesch\u00e4ft, Brigitte, die Inhaberin kommt aus Benin. Da ich das westafrikanische K\u00fcstenland auch bereits ein wenig kenne, kommen wir ins Gespr\u00e4ch. \u00dcber ihre Schwester bezieht Brigitte ihre Stoffe aus Porto Novo, unweit der Hauptstadt Cotonou. Mit dem kleinen Laden versucht sie sich und ihren Sohn durchzubringen. Als ich ihr erz\u00e4hle, dass ich nach Produktionsm\u00f6glichkeiten f\u00fcr meine Mode suche, macht sie mich direkt mit Benjamin bekannt, der nebenan ein kleines Schneideratelier betreibt und mir spontan eine F\u00fchrung anbietet. \u201eIch arbeite eigentlich kaum noch mit Schnittvorlagen, alle Teile werden direkt nach Ma\u00df auf die Stoffe \u00fcbertragen\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt mir Benjamin. \u201eF\u00fcr meine Auszubildenden nutze ich sie nat\u00fcrlich schon noch hier und da, damit sie lernen k\u00f6nnen.\u201c Nachdem ich seine beiden Mitarbeiter und seine Auszubildende begr\u00fc\u00dft habe, kaufe ich bei Brigitte ein paar Pagne-Stoffe f\u00fcr meine erste Kollektion \u201eMade in Burkina\u201c. Mit den 30.000 Francs CFA \u2013 umgerechnet 45 Euro \u2013kann sie jetzt die Monatsmiete f\u00fcr das Gesch\u00e4ft bezahlen, sagt sie l\u00e4chelnd. Sie gibt mir noch den Kontakt von R\u00e9gine, die ein Ausbildungszentrum f\u00fcr junge Schneiderinnen in der N\u00e4he des Kinderkrankenhauses von Ouagadougou leitet.<\/p>\n

Centre Esp\u00e9rance <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mittlerweile habe ich \u00fcber die mega-moderne App \u201eOkalm\u201c<\/a> (sie funktioniert ganz \u00e4hnlich wie Free Now oder Uber) einen sehr netten Taxifahrer gefunden. Ahmed ist Peulh, und z\u00e4hlt damit zu einer Minderheit, die im Norden Burkinas seit Jahren verfolgt wird. Auch meine Familie geh\u00f6rt zu dieser ethnischen Gruppe. Mit meinem Nachnamen Diallo werde ich als \u201epulho debbo\u201c \u2013 fulanische Frau \u2013 direkt erkannt oder in der Sprache Fulfulde angesprochen, von der ich zu meinem Bedauern nur einige Begr\u00fc\u00dfungsformeln verstehe. Ahmed und sein Praktikant bringen mich ein paar Tage sp\u00e4ter zu R\u00e9gine, der Gr\u00fcnderin des Centre Esp\u00e9rance in den Stadtteil \u201eZone 1\u201c. Mit vereinten Orientierungsbem\u00fchungen und den Anweisungen von R\u00e9gine via Handy erreichen wir das kleine Zentrum. R\u00e9gine erwartet mich gemeinsam mit einer betagten, h\u00e4kelnden Lehrerin am Eingang und begr\u00fc\u00dft mich herzlich. Die handarbeitende Dame \u00fcbernimmt heute die Arbeit des Wachmanns, der nicht zur Arbeit erschienen ist. Normalerweise gibt er auf die vor dem Hof geparkten Fahrr\u00e4der der Sch\u00fclerinnen acht. R\u00e9gine, selber Schneiderin, zeigt mir zun\u00e4chst, wo die Auszubildenden des ersten Jahres unterrichtet werden. Hinter Bastvorh\u00e4ngen, die eine offene Veranda vom Hof trennen, dr\u00e4ngen sich die rund 30 jungen Frauen. Mein Besuch l\u00f6st Gemurmel und leises Gel\u00e4chter aus. R\u00e9gine ruft die M\u00e4dchen zur Ordnung und stellt mich als deutsche Modemacherin mit einer gro\u00dfen Marke vor. W\u00e4hrend ich f\u00fcr mich noch zu relativieren versuche, dass mein Label noch in den Kinderschuhen steckt, zieht mich R\u00e9gine zu einer Deb\u00fctantin, die ein handvers\u00e4umtes St\u00fcck Stoff bestickt. Nach ein paar Schritten \u00fcber den sehr hei\u00dfen Hof, erreichen wir den gro\u00dfen N\u00e4hsaal, wo uns etwa 40 M\u00e4dchen hinter N\u00e4hmaschinen \u00fcberrascht anblicken. R\u00e9gine stellt mich kurz vor und k\u00fcndigt vor der gro\u00dfen Runde an, dass die besten Sch\u00fclerinnen mit mir zusammenarbeiten d\u00fcrfen. Ihre Rede wirft bei mir sofort eine Frage auf: \u201eWerde ich diese Erwartungen auch erf\u00fcllen k\u00f6nnen?\u201c Ich erz\u00e4hle kurz, wo ich herkomme und dass ich versuche, meine kultur\u00fcbergreifende Mode in Burkina produzieren zu lassen. Ich betone, wie wichtig die Ausbildung f\u00fcr die finanzielle Unabh\u00e4ngigkeit der Frauen ist und dass ich mir eine Zusammenarbeit vorstellen kann, wenn die Qualit\u00e4t stimmt.<\/p>\n

Auf dem Weg zu den Sch\u00fclerinnen des Abschlussjahrgangs entschuldigt sich R\u00e9gine f\u00fcr den Zustand des Hofes. \u00dcberall lagern Steine und Zements\u00e4cke, es ist geplant, das Areal zu \u00fcberdachen, damit die M\u00e4dchen des dritten Lehrjahrs zumindest vor der Sonne gesch\u00fctzt sind. Aber wie so oft, fehlt hierf\u00fcr das Geld. Derzeit lernen die erfahrensten jungen Frauen auf dem Nachbargrundst\u00fcck im Schatten eines gro\u00dfen Baumes. Hier wohnt auch R\u00e9gine mit ihrer Familie. Ich beginne zu verstehen, wieviel Herzblut und finanzieller Aufwand hier in die \u00a0Zukunft von benachteiligten M\u00e4dchen aus l\u00e4ndlichen Gebieten flie\u00dft. Nach ein wenig Geplauder mit R\u00e9gines Mann, der mir stolz von seinen Aufenthalten in Deutschland und einigen deutschen Besucher:innen der Familie berichtet, verabschiede ich mich langsam. Wir vereinbaren einen n\u00e4chsten Besuch im Atelier von Alima, der Direktorin des Zentrums. Mit einem L\u00e4cheln im Gesicht steige ich in Ahmeds Taxi, das schon vor dem Tor des Zentrums wartet. Ich glaube, ich habe wieder einen kleinen Edelstein gefunden.<\/p>\n

Die erste Pr\u00eat-\u00e0-porter-Kollektion<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"MohammadSchon auf dem R\u00fcckweg, \u00fcberlege ich, wie ich mit Alima und den Sch\u00fclerinnen des Centre Esp\u00e9rance zusammenarbeiten kann. Massgeschneiderte Modelle sind vielleicht f\u00fcr die M\u00e4dchen in der Ausbildung noch etwas anspruchsvoll, also \u00fcberlege ich, wie ich einfachere Kleidungsst\u00fccke in Papierschnitten und unterschiedlichen Gr\u00f6\u00dfen vorbereiten kann, so dass sie die Schnitteile nur noch zusammenn\u00e4hen m\u00fcssen. Es braucht also Schnittpapier und nat\u00fcrlich auch Stoffe. Ahmed und ich machen uns in den n\u00e4chsten Tagen auf die Suche nach \u201eMon Fasodanfani\u201c<\/a>, einem Gesch\u00e4ft f\u00fcr gewebte Baumwollstoffe, dem ich seit einiger Zeit auf Instagram folge. Leider finden wir das Gesch\u00e4ft nicht: An der genannten Adresse befindet sich nur ein Rohbau. Aber daf\u00fcr werden wir ganz in der N\u00e4he bei Kanazo\u00e9 Mode f\u00fcndig: Mir schwinden fast die Sinne, als ich die Auswahl sehe. Nach einigen Stunden habe ich drei verschiedene Stoffmuster, die es auch in der entsprechenden Menge gibt. Ich frage Mohammad, den freundlichen Verk\u00e4ufer, ob er mir zehn Meter Schnittpapier besorgen kann, und er besorgt mir binnen Minuten um die Ecke eine Rolle Packpapier. In den kommenden Tagen gradiere ich zum ersten Mal Schnitte f\u00fcr eine Wendejacke und einen Jumpsuit in den Gr\u00f6\u00dfen 36, 38 und 40. Der Ventilator in meinem kleinen Wohnzimmer wirbelt die Schnitteile unz\u00e4hlige Male von meinem kleinen Tisch: Das ist Afrika!<\/p>\n
