Atemberaubende Wellen am Abend<\/p><\/div>\n
The first stage of this year’s fabric journey took me to Grand Bassam on the Ivory Coast \u2013 a place where the salty air cleanses my lungs and the sea carries away old thoughts with every wave. I desperately needed a few days off on deserted beaches. The IB collection, which I had developed in record time in December for the big fashion show in Bobo Dioulasso, had been a creative and emotional tour de force.<\/p>\n
A sprint, a limousine and an inner critic<\/h2>\n
After this brief respite, it was time to move on: a direct flight to Burkina Faso. I arrived at the airport early \u2013 a whole three hours before departure. Enough time to write a text in peace. Completely immersed and focused, I then hear the announcement from the loudspeaker: \u2018Last call for the flight to Bobo Dioulasso\u2019. After a short sprint to the gate and a quick ride in a VIP limousine across the tarmac, I made it onto the plane just in time. My inner critic protested loudly, but I let it be.<\/p>\n
Fitting in Bobo: Between excitement and arrival<\/h2>\n
No sooner had I arrived in Bobo than it was straight to the fitting. In addition to my brand Diallo tissue tales, two other creative labels were also there: kokoso \u2013 the bag label by Doris Margel-Hope, and the impressive jewellery label Ba’ma Youma by A\u00efcha. Some of our models came from the city’s dance scene \u2013 each with their own unique presence and clothing sizes between 34 and 42. After about an hour and a half, the outfits, the order and the styles were decided. My heartbeat calmed down. Now it was time to really arrive in Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n
Systematic improvisation \u2013 the last few days before the show<\/h2>\n![\"Person](\"https:\/\/tissuetales.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Abou_A1A2866-683x1024.jpg\")
Schillerndes Burkina<\/p><\/div>\n
There was still a lot to do for the fashion show four days later: clothes hangers, which I \u2018rented\u2019 from an acquaintance. A car for the last few trips with the collection and props? That also sorted itself out almost by itself: a friend’s chic Hyundai was a real game changer in a city where I had previously got around on foot or by taxi.<\/p>\n
The briefing with our presenter Krisha turned into a very moving conversation in which Doris, A\u00efcha and I told the stories behind our work. A\u00efcha’s story in particular touched me deeply: her family is among the more than two million internally displaced persons in Burkina Faso. Terrorist militias drove them from their village in the north of the country. When they returned, they found only a few beads in the red earth. Today, A\u00efcha transforms this trauma into powerful jewellery art \u2013 and makes her culture visible. Her work is both memory and resistance.<\/p>\n

The IB collection by Diallo tissue tales is a declaration of love for the hand-woven fabrics of Burkina Faso \u2013 the powerful Faso Dan Fani and the bright, hand-dyed Kokodunda.<\/p>\n
These fabrics are more than just materials. They are archives of experiences, identity and connection. Inspired by my own family history, by sewing afternoons with my grandmother, I create spaces of memory with fabrics. For me, textiles are like living beings. They breathe, they remember \u2013 sometimes even long-forgotten moments and traumatic experiences.<\/p>\n
The IB collection deliberately combines oversized silhouettes with glittering materials \u2013 an aesthetic that radiates self-confidence, dignity and hope. It stands for the vision that Burkina Faso will flourish and shine \u2013 carried by the creativity of its people, the courage of its head of state Capitaine Ibrahim Traor\u00e9 and the power of cooperation on equal terms.<\/p>\n

The day of the show arrived \u2013 and with it my stage fright. Not everyone was at the venue on time. And my patience was anything but African-style relaxed. But our team was strong. Friends of Marianne and Alex Sangar\u00e9, our hosts from the Centre Culturel Les Bambous, and many supporters of Vie Meilleure and bag cutter Zoumana Sanou gradually filled the rows of seats.<\/p>\n
When Krisha announced us, our musician’s kora began to play and the first models moved down the catwalk, I was completely present. In the moment. A dream came true: my collection on Burkinabe soil \u2013 a circle closing.<\/p>\n
After the show, we chatted with the audience at our sales stands \u2013 curious questions, touched looks, genuine interest and hands touching our handicrafts, trying on the pieces. All of this gives me deep satisfaction and gives me the strength to continue.<\/p>\n

Kaum in Bobo angekommen, ging es direkt zum Fitting. Neben meiner Marke Diallo tissue tales waren auch zwei weitere kreative Labels dabei: kokoso \u2013 das Taschenlabel von Doris Margel-Hope, und das beeindruckende Schmucklabel Ba\u2019ma Youma von A\u00efcha. Unsere Models kamen teils aus der Tanzszene der Stadt \u2013 jede:r mit ganz eigener Pr\u00e4senz und Konfektionsgr\u00f6\u00dfe zwischen 34 und 42. Nach etwa anderthalb Stunden standen die Outfits, die Reihenfolge, die Styles. Mein Herzschlag beruhigte sich. Jetzt hie\u00df es: wirklich ankommen in Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n
Improvisation mit System \u2013 die letzten Tage vor der Show<\/h2>\nSchillerndes Burkina<\/p><\/div>\n
F\u00fcr das Defil\u00e9 vier Tage sp\u00e4ter fehlte noch einiges: Kleiderb\u00fcgel, die ich \u00fcber einen Bekannten \u201egemietet\u201c habe. Ein Auto f\u00fcr die letzten Wege mit Kollektion und Requisiten? Auch das kl\u00e4rte sich fast wie von selbst: Der schicke Hyundai eines Freundes war ein echter Gamechanger in einer Stadt, in der ich mich bisher zu Fu\u00df oder per Taxi bewegte.<\/p>\n
Das Briefing mit unsere Moderatorin Krisha entwickelte sich zu einem sehr bewegenden Gespr\u00e4ch, in dem Doris, A\u00efcha und ich die Geschichten hinter unserer Arbeit erz\u00e4hlten. Besonders A\u00efchas Geschichte hat mich tief ber\u00fchrt: Ihre Familie z\u00e4hlt zu den \u00fcber zwei Millionen Binnenfl\u00fcchtlingen in Burkina Faso. Terroristische Milizen vertrieben sie aus ihrem Dorf im Norden des Landes. Bei der R\u00fcckkehr fanden sie nur noch ein paar Perlen in der roten Erde. Heute transformiert A\u00efcha dieses Trauma in kraftvolle Schmuckkunst \u2013 und macht ihre Kultur sichtbar. Ihre Arbeit ist Erinnerung und Widerstand zugleich.<\/p>\n

Die Kollektion IB von Diallo tissue tales ist eine Liebeserkl\u00e4rung an die handgewebten Stoffe Burkina Fasos \u2013 den kraftvollen Faso Dan Fani und den leuchtenden, handgef\u00e4rbten Kokodunda.<\/p>\n
Diese Stoffe sind mehr als Materialien. Sie sind Archive von Erfahrungen, Identit\u00e4t und Verbundenheit. Inspiriert von meiner eigenen Familiengeschichte, von den N\u00e4hnachmittagen mit meiner Gro\u00dfmutter, erschaffe ich mit Stoffen R\u00e4ume des Erinnerns. F\u00fcr mich sind Textilien wie Lebewesen. Sie atmen, sie erinnern \u2013 manchmal auch an l\u00e4ngst vergessene Momenten und traumatische Erfahrungen.<\/p>\n

Der Tag der Show kam \u2013 und mit ihm mein Lampenfieber. Nicht alle waren p\u00fcnktlich in der Location. Und meine Geduld war alles andere als afrikanisch entspannt. Aber unser Team war stark. Freundinnen von Marianne und Alex Sangar\u00e9, unsere Gastgeber:innen vom Centre Culturel Les Bambous, und viele Unterst\u00fctzer:innen von Vie Meilleure und dem Taschenschneider Zoumana Sanou f\u00fcllten nach und nach die Sitzreihen.<\/p>\n
Als Krisha uns ank\u00fcndigte, die Kora unseres Musikers erklang und sich die ersten Modelle \u00fcber den Laufsteg bewegten, war ich ganz da. Im Moment. Ein Traum wurde wahr: Meine Kollektion auf burkinischem Boden \u2013 ein Kreislauf, der sich schlie\u00dft.<\/p>\n

Mon voyage a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 Grand Bassam, une ville au pass\u00e9 colonial situ\u00e9e en C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. Entre l’air marin sal\u00e9 et les plages d\u00e9sertes, j’ai pu recharger mes batteries pour ce qui m’attendait. Le silence \u00e9tait important, car les pr\u00e9paratifs de la collection m’avaient pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 mes limites.<\/p>\n
Arriv\u00e9e au Burkina Faso : sprint vers la porte d’embarquement et une Hyundai \u00e0 Bobo<\/h2>\n
Avec le vol vers Bobo Dioulasso, tout est devenu r\u00e9el. Une petite course vers la porte d’embarquement, car j’avais perdu la notion du temps en r\u00e9digeant mon texte, une limousine VIP sur le tarmac, et me voil\u00e0 d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans la ville o\u00f9 tout devait se d\u00e9rouler. Pour la touche finale du d\u00e9fil\u00e9, il manquait des cintres, un moyen de transport et du temps, mais comme souvent en Afrique de l’Ouest, tout s’est arrang\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce au r\u00e9seau : une Hyundai, des cintres provenant de la maison d’h\u00f4tes, le soutien de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Die erste Etappe meiner diesj\u00e4hrigen Stoffreise f\u00fchrte mich nach Grand Bassam an die Elfenbeink\u00fcste \u2013 ein Ort, an dem die salzige Luft meine Lungen reinigt und das Meer mit jeder Welle alte Gedanken davontr\u00e4gt. Ich hatte ein paar Tage Auszeit an menschenleeren Str\u00e4nden dringend n\u00f6tig. Denn die Kollektion IB, die ich im Dezember in Rekordzeit f\u00fcr die gro\u00dfe Modenschau in Bobo Dioulasso entwickelt hatte, war ein kreativer und emotionaler Kraftakt.<\/p>\n
Ein Sprint, eine Limousine und ein innerer Kritiker<\/h2>\n
Nach diesem kurzen Luftholen ging es weiter: Direktflug nach Burkina Faso. Ich war fr\u00fch am Flughafen \u2013 ganze drei Stunden vor Abflug. Zeit genug, um in Ruhe einen Text zu schreiben. V\u00f6llig eingetaucht und konzentriert h\u00f6re ich dann doch den Aufruf aus dem Lautsprecher: \u201eLast Call for the flight to Bobo Dioulasso\u201c. Nach einem kleinen Sprint zum Gate, einer \u00a0kurzen Fahrt in einer VIP-Limousine \u00fcber das Rollfeld war ich noch rechtzeitig im Flieger. Mein innerer Kritiker hat laut protestiert und ich habe ihn machen lassen.<\/p>\n
Fitting in Bobo: Zwischen Aufregung und Ankommen<\/h2>\n
Kaum in Bobo angekommen, ging es direkt zum Fitting. Neben meiner Marke Diallo tissue tales waren auch zwei weitere kreative Labels dabei: kokoso \u2013 das Taschenlabel von Doris Margel-Hope, und das beeindruckende Schmucklabel Ba\u2019ma Youma von A\u00efcha. Unsere Models kamen teils aus der Tanzszene der Stadt \u2013 jede:r mit ganz eigener Pr\u00e4senz und Konfektionsgr\u00f6\u00dfe zwischen 34 und 42. Nach etwa anderthalb Stunden standen die Outfits, die Reihenfolge, die Styles. Mein Herzschlag beruhigte sich. Jetzt hie\u00df es: wirklich ankommen in Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n

Auch das kl\u00e4rte sich fast wie von selbst: Der schicke Hyundai eines Freundes war ein echter Gamechanger in einer Stadt, in der ich mich bisher zu Fu\u00df oder per Taxi bewegte.<\/p>\n
Das Briefing mit unsere Moderatorin Krisha entwickelte sich zu einem sehr bewegenden Gespr\u00e4ch, in dem Doris, A\u00efcha und ich die Geschichten hinter unserer Arbeit erz\u00e4hlten. Besonders A\u00efchas Geschichte hat mich tief ber\u00fchrt: Ihre Familie z\u00e4hlt zu den \u00fcber zwei Millionen Binnenfl\u00fcchtlingen in Burkina Faso. Terroristische Milizen vertrieben sie aus ihrem Dorf im Norden des Landes. Bei der R\u00fcckkehr fanden sie nur noch ein paar Perlen in der roten Erde. Die Kollektion IB von Diallo tissue tales ist eine Liebeserkl\u00e4rung an die handgewebten Stoffe Burkina Fasos \u2013 den kraftvollen Faso Dan Fani und den leuchtenden, handgef\u00e4rbten Kokodunda.<\/p>\n
Diese Stoffe sind mehr als Materialien. Sie sind Archive von Erfahrungen, Identit\u00e4t und Verbundenheit. Inspiriert von meiner eigenen Familiengeschichte, von den N\u00e4hnachmittagen mit meiner Gro\u00dfmutter, erschaffe ich mit Stoffen R\u00e4ume des Erinnerns. F\u00fcr mich sind Textilien wie Lebewesen. Sie atmen, sie erinnern \u2013 manchmal auch an l\u00e4ngst vergessene Momenten und traumatische Erfahrungen.<\/p>\n

Der Tag der Show kam \u2013 und mit ihm mein Lampenfieber. Nicht alle waren p\u00fcnktlich in der Location. Und meine Geduld war alles andere als afrikanisch entspannt. Aber unser Team war stark. Freundinnen von Marianne und Alex Sangar\u00e9, unsere Gastgeber:innen vom Centre Culturel Les Bambous, und viele Unterst\u00fctzer:innen von Vie Meilleure und dem Taschenschneider Zoumana Sanou f\u00fcllten nach und nach die Sitzreihen.<\/p>\n
Als Krisha uns ank\u00fcndigte, die Kora unseres Musikers erklang und sich die ersten Modelle \u00fcber den Laufsteg bewegten, war ich ganz da. Im Moment. Ein Traum wurde wahr: Meine Kollektion auf burkinischem Boden \u2013 ein Kreislauf, der sich schlie\u00dft.<\/p>\n

Ce fut non seulement un moment fort sur le plan cr\u00e9atif, mais aussi une \u00e9tape importante sur le plan \u00e9motionnel.<\/p>\n
Grand Bassam, C\u00f4te d’Ivoire : le point de d\u00e9part d’un voyage extraordinaire \u00e0 travers les tissus<\/h2>\n
Mon voyage a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 Grand Bassam, une ville au pass\u00e9 colonial situ\u00e9e en C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. Entre l’air marin sal\u00e9 et les plages d\u00e9sertes, j’ai pu recharger mes batteries pour ce qui m’attendait. Le silence \u00e9tait important, car les pr\u00e9paratifs de la collection m’avaient pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 mes limites.<\/p>\n
Arriv\u00e9e au Burkina Faso : sprint vers la porte d’embarquement et une Hyundai \u00e0 Bobo<\/h2>\n
Avec le vol vers Bobo Dioulasso, tout est devenu r\u00e9el. Une petite course vers la porte d’embarquement, car j’avais perdu la notion du temps en r\u00e9digeant mon texte, une limousine VIP sur le tarmac, et me voil\u00e0 d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans la ville o\u00f9 tout devait se d\u00e9rouler. Pour la touche finale du d\u00e9fil\u00e9, il manquait des cintres, un moyen de transport et du temps, mais comme souvent en Afrique de l’Ouest, tout s’est arrang\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce au r\u00e9seau : une Hyundai, des cintres provenant de la maison d’h\u00f4tes, le soutien de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Les mannequins, dont beaucoup \u00e9taient des danseurs de Bobo, ont apport\u00e9 vie et pr\u00e9sence sur le podium. The IB collection by Diallo tissue tales is a declaration of love for the hand-woven fabrics of Burkina Faso \u2013 the powerful Faso Dan Fani and the bright, hand-dyed Kokodunda.<\/p>\n
These fabrics are more than just materials. They are archives of experiences, identity and connection. Inspired by my own family history, by sewing afternoons with my grandmother, I create spaces of memory with fabrics. For me, textiles are like living beings. They breathe, they remember \u2013 sometimes even long-forgotten moments and traumatic experiences.<\/p>\n
The IB collection deliberately combines oversized silhouettes with glittering materials \u2013 an aesthetic that radiates self-confidence, dignity and hope. It stands for the vision that Burkina Faso will flourish and shine \u2013 carried by the creativity of its people, the courage of its head of state Capitaine Ibrahim Traor\u00e9 and the power of cooperation on equal terms.<\/p>\n

The day of the show arrived \u2013 and with it my stage fright. Not everyone was at the venue on time. And my patience was anything but African-style relaxed. But our team was strong. Friends of Marianne and Alex Sangar\u00e9, our hosts from the Centre Culturel Les Bambous, and many supporters of Vie Meilleure and bag cutter Zoumana Sanou gradually filled the rows of seats.<\/p>\n
When Krisha announced us, our musician’s kora began to play and the first models moved down the catwalk, I was completely present. In the moment. A dream came true: my collection on Burkinabe soil \u2013 a circle closing.<\/p>\n
After the show, we chatted with the audience at our sales stands \u2013 curious questions, touched looks, genuine interest and hands touching our handicrafts, trying on the pieces. All of this gives me deep satisfaction and gives me the strength to continue.<\/p>\n

Mon voyage a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 Grand Bassam, une ville au pass\u00e9 colonial situ\u00e9e en C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. Entre l’air marin sal\u00e9 et les plages d\u00e9sertes, j’ai pu recharger mes batteries pour ce qui m’attendait. Le silence \u00e9tait important, car les pr\u00e9paratifs de la collection m’avaient pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 mes limites.<\/p>\n
Arriv\u00e9e au Burkina Faso : sprint vers la porte d’embarquement et une Hyundai \u00e0 Bobo<\/h2>\n
Avec le vol vers Bobo Dioulasso, tout est devenu r\u00e9el. Une petite course vers la porte d’embarquement, car j’avais perdu la notion du temps en r\u00e9digeant mon texte, une limousine VIP sur le tarmac, et me voil\u00e0 d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans la ville o\u00f9 tout devait se d\u00e9rouler. Pour la touche finale du d\u00e9fil\u00e9, il manquait des cintres, un moyen de transport et du temps, mais comme souvent en Afrique de l’Ouest, tout s’est arrang\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce au r\u00e9seau : une Hyundai, des cintres provenant de la maison d’h\u00f4tes, le soutien de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n

The day of the show arrived \u2013 and with it my stage fright. Not everyone was at the venue on time. And my patience was anything but African-style relaxed. But our team was strong. Friends of Marianne and Alex Sangar\u00e9, our hosts from the Centre Culturel Les Bambous, and many supporters of Vie Meilleure and bag cutter Zoumana Sanou gradually filled the rows of seats.<\/p>\n
When Krisha announced us, our musician’s kora began to play and the first models moved down the catwalk, I was completely present. In the moment. A dream came true: my collection on Burkinabe soil \u2013 a circle closing.<\/p>\n

Die erste Etappe meiner diesj\u00e4hrigen Stoffreise f\u00fchrte mich nach Grand Bassam an die Elfenbeink\u00fcste \u2013 ein Ort, an dem die salzige Luft meine Lungen reinigt und das Meer mit jeder Welle alte Gedanken davontr\u00e4gt. Ich hatte ein paar Tage Auszeit an menschenleeren Str\u00e4nden dringend n\u00f6tig. Denn die Kollektion IB, die ich im Dezember in Rekordzeit f\u00fcr die gro\u00dfe Modenschau in Bobo Dioulasso entwickelt hatte, war ein kreativer und emotionaler Kraftakt.<\/p>\n
Ein Sprint, eine Limousine und ein innerer Kritiker<\/h2>\n
Nach diesem kurzen Luftholen ging es weiter: Direktflug nach Burkina Faso. Ich war fr\u00fch am Flughafen \u2013 ganze drei Stunden vor Abflug. Zeit genug, um in Ruhe einen Text zu schreiben. V\u00f6llig eingetaucht und konzentriert h\u00f6re ich dann doch den Aufruf aus dem Lautsprecher: \u201eLast Call for the flight to Bobo Dioulasso\u201c. Nach einem kleinen Sprint zum Gate, einer \u00a0kurzen Fahrt in einer VIP-Limousine \u00fcber das Rollfeld war ich noch rechtzeitig im Flieger. Mein innerer Kritiker hat laut protestiert und ich habe ihn machen lassen.<\/p>\n
Fitting in Bobo: Zwischen Aufregung und Ankommen<\/h2>\n
Kaum in Bobo angekommen, ging es direkt zum Fitting. Neben meiner Marke Diallo tissue tales waren auch zwei weitere kreative Labels dabei: kokoso \u2013 das Taschenlabel von Doris Margel-Hope, und das beeindruckende Schmucklabel Ba\u2019ma Youma von A\u00efcha. Unsere Models kamen teils aus der Tanzszene der Stadt \u2013 jede:r mit ganz eigener Pr\u00e4senz und Konfektionsgr\u00f6\u00dfe zwischen 34 und 42. Nach etwa anderthalb Stunden standen die Outfits, die Reihenfolge, die Styles. Mein Herzschlag beruhigte sich. Jetzt hie\u00df es: wirklich ankommen in Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n
Improvisation mit System \u2013 die letzten Tage vor der Show<\/h2>\nSchillerndes Burkina<\/p><\/div>\n
F\u00fcr das Defil\u00e9 vier Tage sp\u00e4ter fehlte noch einiges: Kleiderb\u00fcgel, die ich \u00fcber einen Bekannten \u201egemietet\u201c habe. Ein Auto f\u00fcr die letzten Wege mit Kollektion und Requisiten? Auch das kl\u00e4rte sich fast wie von selbst: Der schicke Hyundai eines Freundes war ein echter Gamechanger in einer Stadt, in der ich mich bisher zu Fu\u00df oder per Taxi bewegte.<\/p>\n
Das Briefing mit unsere Moderatorin Krisha entwickelte sich zu einem sehr bewegenden Gespr\u00e4ch, in dem Doris, A\u00efcha und ich die Geschichten hinter unserer Arbeit erz\u00e4hlten. Besonders A\u00efchas Geschichte hat mich tief ber\u00fchrt: Ihre Familie z\u00e4hlt zu den \u00fcber zwei Millionen Binnenfl\u00fcchtlingen in Burkina Faso. Terroristische Milizen vertrieben sie aus ihrem Dorf im Norden des Landes. Bei der R\u00fcckkehr fanden sie nur noch ein paar Perlen in der roten Erde. Heute transformiert A\u00efcha dieses Trauma in kraftvolle Schmuckkunst \u2013 und macht ihre Kultur sichtbar. Ihre Arbeit ist Erinnerung und Widerstand zugleich.<\/p>\n

Diese Stoffe sind mehr als Materialien. Sie sind Archive von Erfahrungen, Identit\u00e4t und Verbundenheit. Inspiriert von meiner eigenen Familiengeschichte, von den N\u00e4hnachmittagen mit meiner Gro\u00dfmutter, erschaffe ich mit Stoffen R\u00e4ume des Erinnerns. F\u00fcr mich sind Textilien wie Lebewesen. Sie atmen, sie erinnern \u2013 manchmal auch an l\u00e4ngst vergessene Momenten und traumatische Erfahrungen.<\/p>\n

Atemberaubende Wellen am Abend<\/p><\/div>\n
Die erste Etappe meiner diesj\u00e4hrigen Stoffreise f\u00fchrte mich nach Grand Bassam an die Elfenbeink\u00fcste \u2013 ein Ort, an dem die salzige Luft meine Lungen reinigt und das Meer mit jeder Welle alte Gedanken davontr\u00e4gt. Ich hatte ein paar Tage Auszeit an menschenleeren Str\u00e4nden dringend n\u00f6tig. Denn die Kollektion IB, die ich im Dezember in Rekordzeit f\u00fcr die gro\u00dfe Modenschau in Bobo Dioulasso entwickelt hatte, war ein kreativer und emotionaler Kraftakt.<\/p>\n
Ein Sprint, eine Limousine und ein innerer Kritiker<\/h2>\n
Nach diesem kurzen Luftholen ging es weiter: Direktflug nach Burkina Faso. Ich war fr\u00fch am Flughafen \u2013 ganze drei Stunden vor Abflug. Zeit genug, um in Ruhe einen Text zu schreiben. V\u00f6llig eingetaucht und konzentriert h\u00f6re ich dann doch den Aufruf aus dem Lautsprecher: \u201eLast Call for the flight to Bobo Dioulasso\u201c. Nach einem kleinen Sprint zum Gate, einer \u00a0kurzen Fahrt in einer VIP-Limousine \u00fcber das Rollfeld war ich noch rechtzeitig im Flieger. Mein innerer Kritiker hat laut protestiert und ich habe ihn machen lassen.<\/p>\n
Fitting in Bobo: Zwischen Aufregung und Ankommen<\/h2>\n
Kaum in Bobo angekommen, ging es direkt zum Fitting. Neben meiner Marke Diallo tissue tales waren auch zwei weitere kreative Labels dabei: kokoso \u2013 das Taschenlabel von Doris Margel-Hope, und das beeindruckende Schmucklabel Ba\u2019ma Youma von A\u00efcha. Unsere Models kamen teils aus der Tanzszene der Stadt \u2013 jede:r mit ganz eigener Pr\u00e4senz und Konfektionsgr\u00f6\u00dfe zwischen 34 und 42. Nach etwa anderthalb Stunden standen die Outfits, die Reihenfolge, die Styles. Mein Herzschlag beruhigte sich. Jetzt hie\u00df es: wirklich ankommen in Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n
Improvisation mit System \u2013 die letzten Tage vor der Show<\/h2>\nSchillerndes Burkina<\/p><\/div>\n
F\u00fcr das Defil\u00e9 vier Tage sp\u00e4ter fehlte noch einiges: Kleiderb\u00fcgel, die ich \u00fcber einen Bekannten \u201egemietet\u201c habe. Ein Auto f\u00fcr die letzten Wege mit Kollektion und Requisiten? Auch das kl\u00e4rte sich fast wie von selbst: Der schicke Hyundai eines Freundes war ein echter Gamechanger in einer Stadt, in der ich mich bisher zu Fu\u00df oder per Taxi bewegte.<\/p>\n
Das Briefing mit unsere Moderatorin Krisha entwickelte sich zu einem sehr bewegenden Gespr\u00e4ch, in dem Doris, A\u00efcha und ich die Geschichten hinter unserer Arbeit erz\u00e4hlten. Besonders A\u00efchas Geschichte hat mich tief ber\u00fchrt: Ihre Familie z\u00e4hlt zu den \u00fcber zwei Millionen Binnenfl\u00fcchtlingen in Burkina Faso. Terroristische Milizen vertrieben sie aus ihrem Dorf im Norden des Landes. Bei der R\u00fcckkehr fanden sie nur noch ein paar Perlen in der roten Erde. Heute transformiert A\u00efcha dieses Trauma in kraftvolle Schmuckkunst \u2013 und macht ihre Kultur sichtbar. Ihre Arbeit ist Erinnerung und Widerstand zugleich.<\/p>\n

Die Kollektion IB von Diallo tissue tales ist eine Liebeserkl\u00e4rung an die handgewebten Stoffe Burkina Fasos \u2013 den kraftvollen Faso Dan Fani und den leuchtenden, handgef\u00e4rbten Kokodunda.<\/p>\n
Diese Stoffe sind mehr als Materialien. Sie sind Archive von Erfahrungen, Identit\u00e4t und Verbundenheit. Inspiriert von meiner eigenen Familiengeschichte, von den N\u00e4hnachmittagen mit meiner Gro\u00dfmutter, erschaffe ich mit Stoffen R\u00e4ume des Erinnerns. F\u00fcr mich sind Textilien wie Lebewesen. Sie atmen, sie erinnern \u2013 manchmal auch an l\u00e4ngst vergessene Momenten und traumatische Erfahrungen.<\/p>\n

Der Tag der Show kam \u2013 und mit ihm mein Lampenfieber. Nicht alle waren p\u00fcnktlich in der Location. Und meine Geduld war alles andere als afrikanisch entspannt. Aber unser Team war stark. Freundinnen von Marianne und Alex Sangar\u00e9, unsere Gastgeber:innen vom Centre Culturel Les Bambous, und viele Unterst\u00fctzer:innen von Vie Meilleure und dem Taschenschneider Zoumana Sanou f\u00fcllten nach und nach die Sitzreihen.<\/p>\n

Ce fut non seulement un moment fort sur le plan cr\u00e9atif, mais aussi une \u00e9tape importante sur le plan \u00e9motionnel.<\/p>\n
Grand Bassam, C\u00f4te d’Ivoire : le point de d\u00e9part d’un voyage extraordinaire \u00e0 travers les tissus<\/h2>\n
Mon voyage a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 Grand Bassam, une ville au pass\u00e9 colonial situ\u00e9e en C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. Entre l’air marin sal\u00e9 et les plages d\u00e9sertes, j’ai pu recharger mes batteries pour ce qui m’attendait. Le silence \u00e9tait important, car les pr\u00e9paratifs de la collection m’avaient pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 mes limites.<\/p>\n
Arriv\u00e9e au Burkina Faso : sprint vers la porte d’embarquement et une Hyundai \u00e0 Bobo<\/h2>\n
Avec le vol vers Bobo Dioulasso, tout est devenu r\u00e9el. Une petite course vers la porte d’embarquement, car j’avais perdu la notion du temps en r\u00e9digeant mon texte, une limousine VIP sur le tarmac, et me voil\u00e0 d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans la ville o\u00f9 tout devait se d\u00e9rouler. Pour la touche finale du d\u00e9fil\u00e9, il manquait des cintres, un moyen de transport et du temps, mais comme souvent en Afrique de l’Ouest, tout s’est arrang\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce au r\u00e9seau : une Hyundai, des cintres provenant de la maison d’h\u00f4tes, le soutien de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Ce fut non seulement un moment fort sur le plan cr\u00e9atif, mais aussi une \u00e9tape importante sur le plan \u00e9motionnel.<\/p>\n
Grand Bassam, C\u00f4te d’Ivoire : le point de d\u00e9part d’un voyage extraordinaire \u00e0 travers les tissus<\/h2>\n
Mon voyage a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 Grand Bassam, une ville au pass\u00e9 colonial situ\u00e9e en C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. Entre l’air marin sal\u00e9 et les plages d\u00e9sertes, j’ai pu recharger mes batteries pour ce qui m’attendait. Le silence \u00e9tait important, car les pr\u00e9paratifs de la collection m’avaient pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 mes limites.<\/p>\n
Arriv\u00e9e au Burkina Faso : sprint vers la porte d’embarquement et une Hyundai \u00e0 Bobo<\/h2>\n
Avec le vol vers Bobo Dioulasso, tout est devenu r\u00e9el. Une petite course vers la porte d’embarquement, car j’avais perdu la notion du temps en r\u00e9digeant mon texte, une limousine VIP sur le tarmac, et me voil\u00e0 d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans la ville o\u00f9 tout devait se d\u00e9rouler. Pour la touche finale du d\u00e9fil\u00e9, il manquait des cintres, un moyen de transport et du temps, mais comme souvent en Afrique de l’Ouest, tout s’est arrang\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce au r\u00e9seau : une Hyundai, des cintres provenant de la maison d’h\u00f4tes, le soutien de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Les mannequins, dont beaucoup \u00e9taient des danseurs de Bobo, ont apport\u00e9 vie et pr\u00e9sence sur le podium. Des v\u00eatements dans les tailles 34 \u00e0 42, des corps r\u00e9els, des personnes r\u00e9elles, des histoires r\u00e9elles.<\/p>\n

Diese Stoffe sind mehr als Materialien. Sie sind Archive von Erfahrungen, Identit\u00e4t und Verbundenheit. Inspiriert von meiner eigenen Familiengeschichte, von den N\u00e4hnachmittagen mit meiner Gro\u00dfmutter, erschaffe ich mit Stoffen R\u00e4ume des Erinnerns. F\u00fcr mich sind Textilien wie Lebewesen. Sie atmen, sie erinnern \u2013 manchmal auch an l\u00e4ngst vergessene Momenten und traumatische Erfahrungen.<\/p>\n

Der Tag der Show kam \u2013 und mit ihm mein Lampenfieber. Nicht alle waren p\u00fcnktlich in der Location. Und meine Geduld war alles andere als afrikanisch entspannt. Aber unser Team war stark. Freundinnen von Marianne und Alex Sangar\u00e9, unsere Gastgeber:innen vom Centre Culturel Les Bambous, und viele Unterst\u00fctzer:innen von Vie Meilleure und dem Taschenschneider Zoumana Sanou f\u00fcllten nach und nach die Sitzreihen.<\/p>\n
Als Krisha uns ank\u00fcndigte, die Kora unseres Musikers erklang und sich die ersten Modelle \u00fcber den Laufsteg bewegten, war ich ganz da. Im Moment. Ein Traum wurde wahr: Meine Kollektion auf burkinischem Boden \u2013 ein Kreislauf, der sich schlie\u00dft.<\/p>\n

Mon voyage a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 Grand Bassam, une ville au pass\u00e9 colonial situ\u00e9e en C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. Entre l’air marin sal\u00e9 et les plages d\u00e9sertes, j’ai pu recharger mes batteries pour ce qui m’attendait. Le silence \u00e9tait important, car les pr\u00e9paratifs de la collection m’avaient pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 mes limites.<\/p>\n
Arriv\u00e9e au Burkina Faso : sprint vers la porte d’embarquement et une Hyundai \u00e0 Bobo<\/h2>\n
Avec le vol vers Bobo Dioulasso, tout est devenu r\u00e9el. Une petite course vers la porte d’embarquement, car j’avais perdu la notion du temps en r\u00e9digeant mon texte, une limousine VIP sur le tarmac, et me voil\u00e0 d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans la ville o\u00f9 tout devait se d\u00e9rouler. Pour la touche finale du d\u00e9fil\u00e9, il manquait des cintres, un moyen de transport et du temps, mais comme souvent en Afrique de l’Ouest, tout s’est arrang\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce au r\u00e9seau : une Hyundai, des cintres provenant de la maison d’h\u00f4tes, le soutien de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Les mannequins, dont beaucoup \u00e9taient des danseurs de Bobo, ont apport\u00e9 vie et pr\u00e9sence sur le podium. Des v\u00eatements dans les tailles 34 \u00e0 42, des corps r\u00e9els, des personnes r\u00e9elles, des histoires r\u00e9elles.<\/p>\n

Le jour du d\u00e9fil\u00e9 de mode \u00e0 Bobo Dioulasso, le lieu s’est lentement rempli : invit\u00e9s de la ville, sympathisants de l’association Vie Meilleure, cr\u00e9ateurs et couturiers. Lorsque notre pr\u00e9sentatrice Krisha a commenc\u00e9 la pr\u00e9sentation et que les premiers mannequins ont d\u00e9fil\u00e9 sur le podium, tout le reste a \u00e9t\u00e9 oubli\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9fil\u00e9, nous avons ouvert nos stands de vente. L’accueil a \u00e9t\u00e9 formidable : discussions avec le public, regards curieux, mains qui touchaient nos tissus. Ce fut un moment de v\u00e9ritable connexion.<\/p>\n
